Below is a list of useful tips for the game. If you have additional tips you would like to add, feel free to share it with us and we will give you the credit due to you.
Raiding Tips
- Before raiding, make sure to queue up units in the barracks. This will help save you time training.
- Try to limit the variation of troops you have when you raid. Example: Mass giants, goblins and wallbreakers are excellent for farming.
- When selecting a base to raid, be sure to only attack the ones that could give you a profit for your investment (elixirs). Normally, the higher gold/elixirs they have available for looting, the better.
- Use the “zoom in” feature to check out if the gold mines and elixir pumps are near full. This is a great way to determine whether you can farm a lot from those or not.
- When possible, send out a few barbarians as you attack, they could trigger bombs and spring traps.
- You do not have to achieve 100% victory everytime. For as long as you get a star, you are already considered victorious.
- Healers only heal ground units. Don’t expect them to heal fellow healers, dragons and balloons.
Clan Castle Troop Tips
- Wallbreakers are useless when it comes to defending the base.
- Healers can heal your buildings while defending. But this is still considered an inefficient troop for defense
- Dragons make an excellent base defender. Make sure you have clan castle level 3 to accommodate it.
- If there are no dragons available, asking for archers is also a good idea for defense.
Clan War Tips
- There is no need to protect your resource storage in clan war. Since they have a high hitpoint use them as an additional layer of protection in front of your defense towers
- Create 2 village layouts. A “research” village and a real war village. during the 24 hour preparation day have your research village loaded for the other clan to see. Right before war starts switch to the real village for the war. This can mess up troop allotments for first attack.
- Any changes to your village after war starts are ignored until war ends. (change in locations, actual village, etc)
- Towers will have pre-upgrade level duing war even if you start the upgrade before the war. This is not like the regular attacks where towers are unavailable for defense.
Elixir Tips
- When you do not have shields up, and you need to stop playing for several hours, you could protect elixirs by “queueing” lots of troops in your barracks when your camps are full. Afterwards, when you play again, just cancel those units and your elixirs will return. This tip applies to dark elixir as well. Wallbreakers are the best for this queuing strategy
- You can get free elixirs on troops that are about to finish upgrade in laboratory. For example, when barbarian upgrade is about to finish, train as many barbarians as you can. And then cancel training as soon as the upgrade is done. You will get your elixirs back plus a profit depending on how much the new barbarian costs.
General Tips
- As much as possible, try not to upgrade town hall too quickly. The game becomes harder and harder as you town hall reaches the next level. This is especially true when you reach Town Hall 7 and up.
- When you get raided, you can click on the tombstones to get 20 elixirs per tombstone. On the other hand, you can surprise your enemies by not clicking on them (so they assume your base has been raided and you won’t have reinforcements).
- Just like the tip above, dark troops who leave tombstones can give you 5 dark elixirs per tombstone.
